Having experienced a huge personal buzz from sharing my nutrition and coaching expertise to inspire change within the corporate environment, both in people and strategy, I started to look beyond it. I started to wonder what else I might like to do. This coincided with me experiencing the craziness, wonder, deep friendships, sense of community that having two gorgeous wee boys (very close together) brought. This utter madness gave me a true understanding of life prioritisation. No, this wasn't about working out how to be a working mum, to me it was much more. I had a great job, a great boss and huge flexibility. But I knew I could do more with the time and energy I had, I wanted to make sure I was putting it to best use.

Never has my time mattered more to me, nor my energy had such a huge capacity to grow in one moment, and vanish in the next. With a couple of amazing coaching sessions I decided to put down my lab coat, to step out of ivory towers and corporate buildings, to look in my own mirror and see the reality of lives all around me. I have always been passionate about the application of scientific knowledge to improve health. I realised I was out of touch with the reality of my own day to day lifestyle choices and what impacts them and those of the people closest to me.

Often health is seen in a far off light, something for some time in the future. It's not about brilliance and enabling experience now and today, its about the avoidance of horrid circumstance some time later. Moreover, its most often measured by physical outcomes, biomarkers, cholesterol levels, kcal burned. Yet really, although health is physical, it's also emotional, its social. Why do we care about those levels, numbers after all? Similarly, food is about all things delicious, whilst nutrition for most is about all things you want but you can't have. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. On all counts. And that's where Live It Up Ventures was born. I don't have all the answers, nor does science, nor does Jamie Oliver. But my personal belief and ambition is that through real personal honesty and reflection, by connecting people, having a laugh & sharing our talents and experiences, within the construct of great coaching, we can inspire each other to make better, happier, choices so they become real and true for more people, more often.  Nothing beats that look you share and feeling in your veins when you, together with someone else, crack it! Unlocked in that moment, is the force and power that comes from the Live It Up approach to life. Want to experience this? Please get in touch, together we can create positive change for ourselves, our families, our businesses and our communities.

That was a good insight. We have the same beliefs. I guess honesty is really one if the most important aspect to look forward. Empowering all women out there is such a good thing to do and your blog will really help them. Voicing out your opinions about lifestyle and mach more will help others to be encouraged to do the same. I hope that you will continue this kind of advocacy. Thank you very much for giving us an interesting blog.
